(DMR)
Elevate your precision shooting with the One With The Gun® Designated Marksman Rifle Course—a rigorous 24-hour certification that transforms capable shooters into mission-ready designated marksmen. You’ll master advanced external-ballistics and wind-compensation techniques for accurate engagements out to 200 yds or better, hone specialized shooting positions under realistic stress, and integrate different LPVO optics and scopes for unmatched first-shot effectiveness. Through dynamic live-fire drills, and on-the-fly troubleshooting, you’ll build the skills, confidence, and decision-making acumen to dominate the battlefield and support your team with precision fire. This is the course that bridges the gap between regular patrol officers with rifles, and SWAT Snipers. By course end, you’ll command the skills, confidence, and pedagogical framework to transform capable shooters into lethal precision assets.
Course Highlights
Advanced Ballistics & Wind Compensation: Master external-ballistics principles and real-time wind-call techniques for precise 200 yd engagements, or better.
LPVO Zeroing & Reticle Mastery: Execute rapid, accurate zero procedures and leverage reticle subtensions for hold-over/under solutions.
Specialized Shooting Positions: Hone prone, kneeling, barricade, and improvised-rest positions under dynamic, stress-induced scenarios.
On-the-Fly Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct common optic and mount failures—mount creep, parallax drift, zero-shift—using standard duty tools.
Decision-Making Under Pressure: Build the mental framework to assess threats, make split-second engagement determinations, and execute first-round hits with confidence.
Certification Standard: Successfully complete a comprehensive 24-hour evaluation—including live-fire tables and practical problem-solving—to earn your Designated Marksman Rifle certification.
Eligibility & Requirements:
Students MUST be sworn police officers.
Student MUST have an M4 platform rifle or bolt-action department rifle. No AK/SCAR or other variants will be allowed.
*Students MUST have a rifle with secondary sighting/aiming system (iron sights or red dot) and MUST have a Low-Power Variable Optic or formal long range rifle scope.
*Students MUST have an appropriate sling for their weapon. No sling-less weapons will be allowed.
*Students must bring 600 rds of Match-Grade DUTY ammunition for the rifle they will shoot. No Practice/Range Ammo.
*Students must bring their duty belts with their duty gun.
*Students must bring 100 rds of ammunition for their duty handgun
*Students must have rifle magazine pouches mounted on their vests, duty belt, or thigh rig.
*Students must bring their daily-use or tactical team body armor
*Students must bring eye and ear protection.
*Students must bring 15 “dummy” training rounds for their rifle.
*Students must bring at least 3 training magazines for their rifle and 3 training magazines for their handgun.
*Students should bring a knee pad and a cheap yoga mat or shooting pad.
*Students should bring any shooting bags or shooting platforms they have (tri-pod/bi-pod)
