The New Standard in Report Writing Training

*THIS COURSE IS CERTIFIED BY THE ILLINOIS LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING AND STANDARDS BOARD AND NATIONALLY CERTIFIED BY IADLEST*

Law Enforcement training with a 21st Century approach.

Just as officers train in disciplines such as firearms and defensive tactics on at least a yearly basis, so should they train to best practices and current trends in verbiage for today’s courtrooms. Everything evolves, and so much of what is reported in law enforcement changes as quickly as the law itself. Report writing training is usually deferred or ignored in most agency’s training programs. If an officer learned to write reports 20 years ago, odds are he is still articulating the same way today.

The reports we write and the way we write them, are what keep us out of, or get us closer to, being disciplined, terminated or worse.

Our court-tested system is PhD-developed and puts completeness at the front of all report creation. What makes this different? We don’t just teach grammar, chronology and articulation. We don’t teach FORMAT, we teach report writing PROCESS AND PROCEDURE so that your personnel have the system that will allow them to write any kind of report, from stolen items to shootings, and achieve a complete picture 100% of the time.

Simply put, while other training groups teach paragraph structure and sounding scholarly, we teach a report writing system with guaranteed results.

THIS IS THE NEW STANDARD IN POLICE REPORT NARRATIVES.

EVERY police report you write is a TEST.
A TEST of your memory.
A TEST of your note-taking ability.
A TEST of your ability to listen.
A TEST of your ability to paint a picture in the minds of those who read it.

The passing standard for this test is a conviction, NOT a grade. Police reports put criminals behind bars, or allow them to remain free.

The Gap-Free Narrative gives you the ANSWERS TO THE TEST; TO EVERY TEST you will write for the rest of your career.

OUR GUARANTEE: WE WILL STANDARDIZE THE STRUCTURE OF ALL YOUR REPORTS AND MAKE YOUR PERSONNEL BETTER AND MORE SYSTEMATIC REPORT WRITERS .

The credibility of your agency, and that of the reporting officer’s, is on the line with every report that is written. Ensure a standardized structure and make them as Gap-Free as possible.

Invest in the report writing training that will result in immediate improvement of your officer’s abilities and department standardization of reports.

The Gap-Free Five Part Narrative

All narratives are created and assessed by the five part process that is organic to the Gap-Free system. Within those five narrative parts, officers are able to include all aspects of any incident they are reporting on. From stolen property to homicide investigations, our approach makes it as easy as going down a checklist.

The Gap-Free Narrative Checklist©

All users will be trained on how to use our checklist. By using our narrative checklist, officers will learn to write reports in a more complete way 100% of the time. After learning how to apply the Gap-Free concept, officers will have the ability to apply the same complete-reporting approach for the rest of their careers.
